'if I could understand a flower'
- a quote from Tennyson.
Photo credit by Alexander Wrightqueen of luxuria will use Bern as her studio during this residency, bringing traces of her urban actions back into Dampfzentrale. Drawing from the Jainist belief in seven perceptions of truth for any given situation—much like how siblings recall the same memory differently—the work explores how truth shapes our perception amid the rising crisis of misinformation. Through interactive public experiences that question personal truth, queen of luxuria will incorporate responses into the performative actions in the city.

four corners
At a month-long residency at General Practice in Lincoln, UK in May 2025, queen of luxuria explored the conceptual relationship between the four corners of the body and the four corners of the city. The exhibition space and the urban site was in constant dialogue, weaving together the gallery environment with the broader cityscape. Through sculptural elements, performance actions, and interactive experiences, the exhibition invited the public to engage in experiences that connected the body and urban geographies. These intimate encounters were designed to create a transformative experience that have the potential to elevate participants on their personal life journeys.

Gilding Gold in the Cracks of the Fragmented Self
Design by Surprise Media
On June 19, 2021 Isa Fontbona Mola and Carron Little collaborated to create a public performance on the steps of the Cathedral in Girona, Spain. This performance was inspired by Poem for Abilasa Leuenberger that Carron wrote in 2016 as part of the Spare Rib Revisited project. Here you see a member of the public reading Carron’s poem in Catalan written on gold bandage wrapped around Isa’s head.
The poem was inspired by Abilasa’s experience of going to school in a village in Switzerland where the teacher’s made her an outcast because of her mixed race. Carron wrote to poem as an offering to Abilasa to use her talent of writing to heal from this brutal experience. To view the documentation of this project please click on the link below. -
